Objectives of the program

1. Preparing and qualifying human cadres specialized in providing relevant services to deaf and hard-of-hearing people in the learning and work environment.
2. Qualifying workers in both the government sector (teachers and state employees) and the private sector (employees of companies) to acquire sign language.
3. Providing an academic environment in which professional sign language competencies are presented in a scientific manner according to a precise curriculum.
4. Training workers on the ethics of sign language translation to comply with international bodies and organizations related to translation.
5. Providing a scientific and advisory reference for sign language at the level of Saudi universities.
6. Work to enable the program to be a scientific and advisory reference for the preparation and training programs for those working with deaf and hard of hearing people and those related to the community.
7. Coordinating with the authorities related to deaf people to provide in-service courses on sign language for their employees.
8. Granting licenses to sign language interpreters and related service providers.
