Computer Science and Engineering

The Department of Natural and Engineering Sciences seeks to raise the scientific level of the academic departments it offers to the highest level that the professional community can aspire to in terms of educational structure and distinguished human cadres in teaching. The department also links the theoretical and practical aspects together to enable students to apply several projects during their studies that qualify them to carry out practical and technical tasks related to the curricula as well as the needs of the labor market. The department provides opportunities for students to join one of the government and private organizations for summer internships to hone their talents and prepare them for the labor market.

With the increasing importance of work in the field of communications, computer networks, databases and cybersecurity as a result of the remarkable growth of tasks and works within different sectors and the need to link their local and international branches, the Department of Natural and Engineering Sciences took the initiative to offer the Diploma of Communications and Computer Networks, the Diploma of Programming and Databases and the Bachelor of Applied Computing with the tracks of computer networks and cybersecurity in response to the requirements of the labor market, so the curriculum for the specialization of communications, computer networks and cybersecurity was designed to qualify students with information and skills necessary to work in the field of network operation, installation and maintenance The Diploma in Programming and Databases is also designed to develop students' abilities and train them on modern programming methods in this field through intensive practical applications, introduction to databases and how to design and maintain them, and professional training to deal with different systems.

Bridging the gap between theory and practice and empowering the Department of Natural and Engineering Sciences to be a model of excellence in applied education.

Mission

To provide departments in the field of natural and engineering sciences and implement the highest standards of excellence in applied education to prepare qualified cadres for the labor market.

Objectives

  • Providing qualified human resources in the field of natural and engineering sciences needed to fill technical jobs and professions in the private and public sectors.
  • Providing various study sections in the field of natural and engineering sciences, including continuing education and short and long-term training courses for the community.
  • Open and strengthen channels of partnership and cooperation with the private sector to increase the alignment between the quality of the college's outputs and the actual and practical requirements of the available jobs.
