Data science is considered the most exciting and common science in the 21st century, as data is one of the most important inputs of the Fourth Industrial Revolution due to its multiple uses in the industrial, economic, technical, health and educational fields, as this science combines multiple fields including statistical matters, scientific methods and data analysis to extract value from data. With the increasing demand for qualifying national cadres specialized in the field of data science, the Department of Computer Science sensed its social responsibility towards qualifying qualified national cadres to meet the needs of the labor market and support the continuous development of the Kingdom's various sectors, and this program was proposed to grant students an intermediate diploma in data science.
