Proceeding from the principle of human resource development, especially health staff, the idea of Health Sciences program has emerged in the College of Applied Studies and Community Services. This program aims to rehabilitate and prepare technical staff that is qualified academically and practically in the most important areas of health needed by the community, which will be described later. Our Diplomas of Health Sciences, which try to prepare distinguished health staff, are leading in nature in terms of their learning and teaching materials as well as outstanding academic staff with expertise and efficiency.
The Health Sciences Program offers five diplomas. The first is the Diploma of diagnostic radiation. This Diploma lasts five semesters, in which students study all types of radiography under the supervision of professors and qualified technicians who seek to enable students to perform relevant work as technicians with the appropriate skills and expertise. The Diploma of Medical Laboratory also lasts five semesters and aims to develop students' knowledge of the rules of laboratory and laboratory tests, and provide them with field training in a number of university hospitals and other medical institutions. The Third Diploma is Medical Records, it has a five-semester study plan including the basics of medical files management, and how to deal with them electronically, besides the use of computer applications to deal with all areas of study in this diploma. Fourth, The Medical Secretarial Diploma aims to qualify its graduates for the profession of distinguished medical secretariat by offering proper training throughout the study period. Finally, a diploma in Nursing is also offered by the program. This Diploma is a female-oriented one of female students for the rehabilitation of them efficiently and effectively to the profession of experienced nurse, and make them capable in management and patient care in the largest hospitals in view of the achieved serious study and intensive training on a scientific basis and long experience for five semesters.
There are also several health Diplomas under study for inclusion in the program of health sciences. As a way of achieving its objectives, the administration of Health Sciences Program is serious about working toward developing and updating its programs as needed by the labor market and community.
